In the event that there is no electrical power to heat your water when SHTF times, what are you to do to heat the water flowing through your pipes?

This video provides the solution: a homemade copper pipe solar water heater. Sure, that’s quite a mouthful but heck, it will keep warm water flowing in your home.

This homemade water heater is pretty impressive as it can heat water up to 150F.

According to PracticalSurvivalist.com:

This is a slim portable design (at only 2″ thick) and is very rugged and durable (built with 2×2’s and 1/2″ plywood). This one hooks to a standard water tap/garden hose. Multiple panels can be hooked together for additional capacity and extras can be easily added; water flow valves, temp sensors, timers etc.. Make sure to use type L copper. Lastly, to secure the glass into the frame, just use a bead of silicone caulk around the edge and drop the glass in.

I love how this video provides the complete list of materials needed and the step-by-step instructions on how to make your very own copper pipe solar powered water heater right in your garage.
